Aerobic composting treatment of chicken manure organic fertilizer
Release time:2026-04-21 Views:4 Sources:Tai an Hongxin Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd

At present, the large amount of organic waste generated in large-scale breeding farms and agricultural production, such as livestock manure and crop straw, has not been properly utilized, which not only wastes resources but also poses a threat to peoples production and living environment. Using chicken manure, pig manure, and crop straw as raw materials, these wastes can be converted into organic fertilizer through composting projects. This not only enables resource utilization, but also beautifies the living environment and promotes regional economic development. It is one of the important contents of promoting the construction of a new socialist countryside, with significant economic, environmental, and social benefits.

Aerobic composting refers to the process of converting waste organic matter such as livestock manure and crop straw into fertilizer through microbial fermentation under controlled conditions of moisture, carbon to nitrogen ratio (C/N), and ventilation.

At present, there are two types of composting methods used in China: strip stack and shallow trough on the ground. In northern China, arched shed strip stack or connected shed shallow trough are commonly used for winter insulation and warming.

Strip composting is the process of stacking a mixture of raw materials into long, strip-shaped piles or stacks, and maintaining an aerobic state in the pile through regular manual or mechanical turning and natural ventilation. Fermentation and decomposition are carried out under aerobic conditions. The cross-section of the stack can be trapezoidal, irregular quadrilateral, or triangular.

This project uses chicken manure and rice husks produced by chicken farms as raw materials, and utilizes Huaqiang Heavy Industrys aerobic composting and flipping machine to produce refined organic fertilizer through composting engineering technology.

The project is located in Henan Province, with a daily processing capacity of 333 tons of a mixture of chicken manure and rice husks. The mixture has a moisture content of 60% and has favorable conditions for treating chicken manure and producing organic fertilizer through aerobic composting.

This plan design includes two parts: the first phase of aerobic composting to produce refined organic fertilizer and the second phase of producing granular organic-inorganic compound fertilizer. The first phase produces organic fertilizer, which is a brown or gray brown powder material packaged in plastic woven bags and sold directly; The second phase production product is organic-inorganic compound fertilizer, which is made into granular compound fertilizer by adding an appropriate amount of inorganic nutrients to the organic fertilizer, mixing, granulation, and drying.

Composting process design: Adjust the moisture content of the mixture of wet chicken manure and rice husk to around 60%, use biological fermentation to heat up and sterilize, further reduce the moisture content and volume of chicken manure, meet the requirements of harmless treatment standards for manure, and produce organic fertilizer. In order to accelerate the fermentation reaction, fermentation agents can be added in the early stages of fermentation to stimulate the heating of compost while increasing the content of active microorganisms.

Composting site:

Length of flipping yard: 55+20=75m (leaving 10 meters of running space at each end of the stack)

Yard width: 195+20=215m (leaving 10 meters of operating space on each side of the site)

Area of flipping site: 75m * 215m=16125m2

The composting area requires a site area of approximately 24.2 acres. Considering a certain amount of auxiliary area for post-treatment and product storage, estimated at 25% of the composting area, the total area required is approximately 30 acres.

The composting site needs to be constructed as a flat cement ground that can withstand a surface pressure of 1.83kg/cm2. It is recommended to build the ground with a slope angle of 1 °

The so-called organic-inorganic compound fertilizer refers to a combination of organic and inorganic fertilizers produced using compost products that have undergone high-temperature aerobic composting as organic raw materials and existing nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizer products as inorganic raw materials, in accordance with the production method of compound fertilizer and the fertilizer requirements of crops. Organic inorganic compound fertilizers have the characteristics of comprehensive organic and inorganic nutrients, balanced nutrient supply, high nutrient utilization efficiency, and effective soil improvement. They are the trend of fertilizer development in China.
