Production process and technology of bio organic fertilizer


The technical content of bio organic fertilizer production is relatively high. In addition to adding bio microbial agents that promote the maturation and decomposition of organic materials during the maturation process to achieve targeted maturation and deodorization, specific functional microorganisms need to be added to the product to enhance its effectiveness. At present, China has included bio organic fertilizers in the category of microbial fertilizers and implemented stricter management measures than organic fertilizers to promote the healthy development of organic fertilizers.  


1. Production process


The bio organic fertilizer production enterprises registered with the Ministry of Agriculture are mainly engaged in the production of microbial fertilizers. In terms of fermentation production technology, tank stacking fermentation method is often used, and other fermentation methods such as flat stacking fermentation method, fermentation tank fermentation method, sealed warehouse fermentation method, etc. have also been applied in production. The regulation of moisture, carbon nitrogen ratio, temperature, and the use of composting agents during the fermentation and maturation process are key factors in the production process, especially the application of microbial agents, which directly affects the fermentation cycle and degree of maturation of materials. The decomposed materials have basically achieved the harmless treatment of the product, which is also conducive to the survival of functional bacteria added during the post-treatment process.  


2. Production technology


In terms of post-treatment of fermentation materials, most enterprises add functional bacteria for compounding and shaping. The product formulation is mainly dust, but there are also those that use drum granulation or extrusion granulation. Granular products overcome the disadvantages of poor appearance and low level of powder products, improving the products marketability. However, at the same time, it also increases the production cost of enterprises and has a certain impact on the survival of effective bacteria.  


3. Types and uses of bacterial strains


Microbial strains are the core of bio organic fertilizer products. In the production process, there are generally two stages that involve the use of microorganisms:


One is to add composting agents that promote material decomposition, composting, and have deodorizing functions during the composting process. These agents are mostly composed of composite bacterial strains, including photosynthetic bacteria, lactic acid bacteria, yeast, actinomycetes, Penicillium, and Trichoderma;


The second is the functional bacteria added after the material is decomposed, generally including nitrogen solubilizing bacteria, phosphorus solubilizing bacteria, silicate bacteria, lactic acid bacteria, pseudomonas, actinomycetes, etc., which play a specific fertilizer effect in the product. Therefore, for the production of bio organic fertilizers, the screening and use of microbial strains is a core technology. Only by mastering this key technology can we accelerate the decomposition and maturation of materials, and ensure the application effect of products.  


4. Sales and Application


Due to the higher production cost of bio organic fertilizers compared to ordinary organic fertilizers, they are mainly used in high-value economic crops such as vegetables, fruits, and Chinese herbal medicines, and have achieved good results.


Bio organic fertilizers play an irreplaceable role in improving the quality of agricultural products, but there are still certain difficulties in production and sales. This is because the optimal price for agricultural products has not been fully achieved, which has affected the enthusiasm of farmers to a certain extent and made the promotion of bio organic fertilizers more difficult.


In recent years, bio organic fertilizers have been widely applied in some ecological demonstration areas, green and organic agricultural product bases, which is the main direction for the future development of bio organic fertilizers. With the expansion of the production scale of green organic agricultural products and the improvement of peoples consumption level, the production and application of bio organic fertilizers will inevitably become mainstream.
